CEM II /A-L 42,5 R
Cement for RMC plants
This type of cement is produced by grinding of portland cement clinker and limestone with the addition of optimal quantity of gypsum as a setting time regulator. CEM II/A-L 42,5 R is intended for construction companies and RMC plants engaged on infrastructural and other projects. This cement type is particualrly suitable for production of concrete of higher strength class and concrete with special properties.
Designation
- PC 20L 42,5 R
- CEM II/A-L 42,5 R
Designation, composition and cement quality are in accordance with Rulebook on cement quality
Properties of cement CEM II/A-L 42,5 R
- High early strengths
- Uniform quality
- Light-colored
- Optimal initial and final setting time
- Reduced and slower hydration heat development in comparison with CEM I
- Uniform standard strength
- Suitable for preparation of high-strength concrete types
- Excellent compatibility with chemical admixtures for concrete
Properties of concrete produced with CEM II/A-L 42,5 R
- Increased water tightness
- Frost resistant
- Prolonged durability
- Faster construction
- Wide range of concrete classes
- for concrete classes up to MB 40 of plastic consistency, chemical admixtures for water reduction and concrete consistency improvement are not required
- concrete classes higher than MB 40 with good workability, compactness and water tightness, are achieved with application of chemical admixtures for water reduction and concrete consistency improvement
- Addition of superplasticizers which prolong the initial setting time of concrete, result in prolonged transport time of fresh concrete, which should be proved through preliminary concrete trials
- Good concrete workability with a reduced water-cement ratio which contributes to better strengths and reduced shrinkage
- Reduced concrete shrinkage and easier curing compared to concrete produced with CEM I, due to reduced hydration heat
Application of CEM II/A-L 42,5 R
- Ordinary and pumped concrete
- Water tight concrete
- Frost resistant concrete
- Concrete resistant to combined impact of frost and salts
- Sprayed concrete
- Self-compacting concrete
- Concrete for self-levelling cementitious screeds
- Various structures of reinforced and non-reinforced concrete
- Road construction
- Production of prefabricated structural concrete elements and other concrete products
- Production of dry mortars
