The General Manager of Moravacem company, Roman Menz, participated with the local team in the international triathlon competition in Belgrade, on September 19, on Ada Ciganlija.
The “Three Musketeers” team won first place in the relay – swimming, cycling, running – with a total time of 4:20 min.
“I’ve been doing triathlon for 5 years. My idea was to form a local team to participate in this year’s Belgrade Triathlon with people from the local community, who are passionate about sports and are in good shape, and thus promote a healthy lifestyle. This example hopefully motivates all our colleagues and members of the local community to exercise regularly.
Who knows, maybe in the next Triathlon we will form a Moravacem team”, said Roman Menz.
Despite the cold morning, the “Three Musketeers” team gave its maximum and after 4 hours and 20 minutes finished its participation in the triathlon, winning a convincing first place in the relay. In addition to the director Roman Menz, who rode a bicycle, the team consisted of Lazar Vanic, a swimmer from Kruševac, and Bojan Ilić, a runner from the athletic club ‘Morava’ from Ćuprija.
“I am very pleased to have participated in the Belgrade triathlon. I was surprised by Director Menz’s call, but I accepted immediately. I love sports and I always try to interest young people in sports by my example “, said Lazar Vanić, a swimmer who swam 1.9 km in cold Ada in just 25 minutes.
Athlete from Ćuprija, Bojan Ilić, finished the half marathon race in 1 hour and 31 minutes:
“I planned to run under an hour and a half, but I ran a little longer. Anyway, it is important that we showed that as a team we work great and that teamwork is most important in competitions like this”, said Bojan after the race.
Roman Menz overcame his 90 km bike leg in 2 hours and 20 minutes and thus broke his personal record:
“This was a really beautiful and successful day. At one point, while I was driving my race, my children came to support me. It is a really nice feeling when I know that I also set a good example for them and motivate them to play sports and live actively.
I would like to invite all my colleagues, to join me in some future competition and to participate as a team and spread the culture of healthy living. The result is not always important, it is important to spread good energy, promote sports, hang out with our families and encourage each other“, added director Roman Menz.
